Once crisscrossed by fields of Centifolia roses and perfume flowers, La Colle-sur-Loup was one of the main suppliers to Grasse’s perfumeries. Since 2007, La Colle-sur-Loup has celebrated the rose every year in mid-May. But the first editions date back to the 1950s and were intended to attract the press and starlets who had settled on the Croisette during the Cannes Film Festival! During this extraordinary celebration, a young woman from Coll was elected Queen of Roses, while a star received the “Prix des Roses.” Brigitte Bardot, Michelle Mercier, and Luis Mariano were among the first award recipients! We celebrated the 70th anniversary of this festival in 2024.
The magic of roses will welcome you again this year, on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
On the program (available soon): Flower-filled streets featuring artisans, rose growers, and nurserymen. Creative workshops and musical strolls all day long.
Among the artisans: embroidery, porcelain, floral decorations, soaps, cosmetics, jewelry, candles… not to mention our local merchants. And plenty to delight in: cheeses, charcuterie, cookies, cakes, crepes, ice cream, wines, herbal teas, honey, nougats, dried fruits, beers… Not to mention our restaurants!
